Subaru made headlines around the globe this past June with a major announcement—and chose New York City as the stage to reveal its latest innovation. In a bold and dynamic presentation, the company unveiled its newest model: the Subaru Uncharted, a fully electric SUV built with adventure in mind.
With this launch, Subaru continues to solidify its position in the EV market. The Uncharted joins the Solterra and Trailseeker, bringing the brand’s all-electric lineup to three models. Designed as a compact SUV, the 2026 Uncharted is aimed at drivers seeking a more affordable electric option—without sacrificing range, performance, or versatility.
This marks a major milestone in Subaru’s electric evolution.
A Name That Says It All

The name Uncharted captures the essence of Subaru’s adventurous spirit. True to the brand’s DNA, this new model is built for exploration and off-the-beaten-path journeys. Entry-level front-wheel drive models will appeal to cost-conscious buyers and come with a smaller battery pack. There will also be a regular-battery front-wheel drive variant.
For those looking for extra power and traction, the Sport and GT trims will feature Subaru’s legendary Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system and X-Mode technology, which enhances control on slippery or uneven terrain.
Under the hood, the dual-motor all-wheel drive version delivers up to 338 horsepower, allowing the Uncharted to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in under five seconds. Power comes from a 77 kWh battery, offering an estimated range of over 480 kilometres for the extended-range FWD model, and up to 460 kilometres for the AWD versions.
Compared to the Solterra, the Uncharted is 170 mm shorter, but still manages to offer over 700 litres of cargo space behind the second row—an impressive feat. Its handling is similar to the Subaru Crosstrek, and its structure is built with high-strength steel to ensure excellent rigidity and confident road manners, both on and off the pavement.
Modern Tech, Inside and Out
Step inside and you’ll find a tech-forward, connected cabin anchored by a 14-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Uncharted also includes wireless phone charging, USB-C ports for rear passengers, and an intuitive interface, making it a practical and connected everyday SUV.
We can’t wait to welcome the 2026 Subaru Uncharted to our showroom here at Subaru of Orillia. This all-new model is expected to arrive early next year—and we’re just as excited as you are to take it for a spin.
Stay tuned—this one’s worth the wait.
